Many of us learned these words, or some variation on them, in our days as confirmation students. They go to the heart of the Lutheran witness and have been central to our teaching and preaching for nearly 500 years. But this witness is always only one generation from extinction. Each generation must be told anew the life giving Word of God’s saving work through Jesus Christ.
At the Institute of Lutheran Theology we are committed to telling this story and preparing the next generation of preachers to tell this story. You can help in this important work.
Your gift to the Annual Fund would underwrite the operating expenses of the Institute. A strong donor base is crucial to meeting our financial obligations. Without this, the vast majority of the costs of pastoral training are passed on to the students. This makes seminary training out of reach for many potential students and is out of step with our deeply held conviction that the call to ministry is not only a personal call but also a call from and for the church.
Your gift to the Endowment Fund would help build a solid financial base for ILT’s future. A strong endowment demonstrates the Institute’s commitment to building a school that will serve not only the immediate
needs of Lutheran churches but will be a place of faithful teaching and scholarship for generations to come.
